FAQ

Glass kitchen backsplashes are single sheets of tempered, UV-printed glass installed directly over your existing wall — no grout, no seams, and easy to wipe clean in seconds. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about material, installation, care, and ordering.

Product & Material

What is a glass kitchen backsplash made of?

Our backsplashes are made from tempered glass, which is heat-treated to be roughly 4-5x stronger than standard glass. The design is printed on the back surface using UV printing, so the image is sealed behind the glass and protected from heat, steam, grease, and scratching.

How thick is the glass?

Standard thickness is 4mm (1/4"). This provides durability for kitchen use while keeping the panel lightweight enough for standard wall-mount installation.

Is tempered glass safe if it breaks?

Yes. Tempered glass is designed to shatter into small, rounded granules rather than sharp shards, which is why it's required by code for many kitchen and bath applications.

Can I get a custom size?

Yes. Every order is made to your exact wall dimensions. Enter your width and height at checkout and we cut the panel to fit, including cutouts for outlets and switches.

What if I have outlets or switches on my backsplash wall?

Send us your outlet and switch measurements after ordering (location from the edges, and size). We cut precise openings so the panel fits flush around them.

Installation

How is a glass backsplash installed?

Glass backsplashes are mounted using a strong construction adhesive or mounting tape applied to the wall, then the panel is pressed into place. Most homeowners install it themselves in under an hour; no tile-setting skills or grout work required.

Do I need a professional installer?

No. Because there's no cutting, grouting, or leveling of individual tiles, most customers install the panel themselves with basic tools (level, adhesive, suction cups for handling). A handyman or contractor can also install it in well under an hour if you prefer.

Can I install it over existing tile?

Yes, as long as the existing surface is flat, clean, and structurally sound. We recommend removing heavily textured or raised tile first for the flattest finish.

Care & Durability

How do I clean a glass backsplash?

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild glass cleaner. Because the surface is non-porous with zero grout lines, grease and food splatter never soak in and wipe away in seconds.

Will it fade, yellow, or crack from stove heat?

No. UV-printed tempered glass is heat- and UV-resistant, so the print won't fade or yellow over time, and the glass itself is rated for standard kitchen heat exposure behind cooktops and ranges.

Ordering & Shipping

How long does production and shipping take?

Custom panels are made to order. Production typically takes 1-4 business days, plus shipping time to your address. You'll receive tracking as soon as it ships.

How is the glass packaged for shipping?

Panels ship in reinforced wooden or heavy-duty cardboard crates with edge protection and foam padding to prevent breakage in transit.

What if my panel arrives damaged?

Contact us with photos of the damaged panel and packaging within 48 hours of delivery and we'll arrange a free replacement.

Do you ship within the US?

Yes, we ship to all 50 states.
